Mother of Thyme

Thymus
Serphyllum
|
During
the season of variant weather patterns seen in the trends
of global warming many people have a hard time acclimating
to the erratic weather conditions and fall under the weather
with a cold or influenza. In Florida one day is hot, the
next day is a cold front followed by rain. The conditions
of fickle weather is bound to test our immunity. The most
important thing we can do is to eat whole foods, get enough
sleep and sunshine to keep our level of immunity up. If
we should fall ill we can look to the symbiotic relationship
our bodies have with nature to bring us back to health.
The
Herb that energizes, stimulatesand promotes inspiration
towards wellness is Mother of Thyme, a commonly
used domestic remedy used since pre-recorded times.
Mother
of Thyme has antiseptic properties and has a beneficial
effect on the digestive system. It is sometimes used to
break the alcohol habit by causing a revulsion for alcohol.
The whole plant is anthelmintic, antioxidant, strongly antiseptic,
antispasmodic, carminative, diaphoretic, expectorant, sedative,
tonic, disinfectant, and deodorant. Thyme was burned as
a fumigator in hopsitals, in religious ceremonies and as
a funeral herb. It was often placed in the coffin or planted
on a grave to give rest to a departed soul. The dried flowers
are also used to repel moths from clothing. The plants are
attractive to bees, and thyme honey is a well-known and
popular variety. |
Medicinal
& Culinary Use
Internal
Use- Bronchitis, catarrh, laryngitis, flatulent indigestion,
painful menstruation, colic and hangovers
External Use- Applied to minor injuries, mastitis,
mouth, throat and gum infections; burned
or sprayed in sick rooms; as a perrenial ground cover
in your garden.
Culinary
Use: Meats,
cheeses, and fats were preserved with thyme adding its distinct
flavour. It is used for flavouring cheeses, soups, stews, stuffings,
meats, fishes, dressings, sauces, and honey.
Essential
oil and oleoresin of thyme are also used in the flavour and food
industries. The oil is used in the flavouring of toothpaste &
mouthwashes (to prevent gingivitis), cough medicines and the manufacture
of perfumes & cosmetics.
RECIPE:
Thyme added to a bath gives off a lovely scent and warms the body
when overtaken by chills or cold weather. Six drops of the essential
oil in the bath will bring on relaxation in about 15 minutes,
rejuvenating the spirits. Or you can make up an herbal bag and
leave dangling under the faucet as you fill the tub. If the scent
isn't enough when you have the tub full, simply drop the bag into
the water and let it "steep" until you reach the desired
scent.

Hemp Seeds
Green
Food of the
New Millennium
Hemp
seeds taste like a cross between pine nuts and cashews.
|
Nature
has provided a perfect container to safely store the essential
fatty acids and protect them from light and oxygen damage
through seeds. When we eat seeds the life force within
us is charged with vitality. This is even more so with
hemps seeds and hemp oil than with any other seed because
the hemp seed is a nutritionally complete source of food
in its raw state. The seeds contain complete protein and
essential fatty acids that are in ideal ratios for human
nutrition.
Of the 3 million plus
edible plants that grow on Earth, no other single plant
source can compare with the nutritional value of hempseeds.

Ginger
Root produces well from Homestead to Pensacola. It is
an erect perennial that grows from thick, white, tuberous, underground
rhizomes that are very aromatic. Flat, pointed, sheathed leaves
are about 1 foot long. Harvest the rhizomes about a year after
planting when the stalks die down. After cleaning, scraping, boiling,
and peeling, dry the rhizomes in the hot sun for about a week.
Use fresh
or dried,
powdered, crystallized or pickled, or in preserves.
How
to Grow Ginger
|
| Herbs can be classified
as annuals, biennials, and perennials. Annuals bloom one season
and then die. Biennials live for two seasons, blooming the second
season only. Once established, perennials overwinter and bloom each
season. |

SMUDGING
Fumitory
In
ancient Roman
medicine, fumitory was
used to treat
problems of the eyes. It got its name because
the juice of the plant brings on such a flow of tears that the
sight becomes dim as with smoke. Legend has it that the plant
was produced, not from seed, but from vapors arising out of the
earth, hence the name
Earth Smoke. Fumitory
or
Earth Smoke was also
used in smudging to exorcise demons or evil spirits, poltergeists
and other evil entities. Also used in purification baths preceding
rituals.
Flowers and stems are used. The flowers
are used as a yelllow dye in wool.
When using a little fumitory is stimulant, while a lot of fumitory
is sedative.
Associated with the planets
of Jupiter and Saturn.
Smudging for Earth healing is an important rite that helps
Mother heal her miasms. Gather forth your circle and reconnect
with the sentient life-force that offers us her foundation and
sustenance for our lives. Earth Mother is the path to healing,
connectivity and ascension.

Essential
Oils to Support the
Journey of Self-Discovery
This
years healing journey is focused on taking control of
your life in a new way. The focus will build upon the "letting
go" series of last year, whose theme by now has a more
prominent place in your awareness when you get stuck. Moving
out of the negative and creating and maintaining positive emotional
states is the new theme of focus. "How" one asks,
"do I experience a constant state of alertness that requires
assertive focus and concentration of both intellectual &
spiritual; confidence of the warrior that seems ever fleeting;
a space to invite inner contentment, joy, peace, and creativity;
performance that yeilds results; restfullness of the nerves
and psyche; self-awareness, self-esteem and self image while
remaining positive throughout the healing process?"
Aromatherapy
or in this case Aroma-Psychology of mind, mood and emotion.
Aromatherapy
works via the olfactory system to affect the physical brain
and etheric body translating the floral vibration into your
field of awareness. Essential oils are complex, yet adaptable
and flexible like humans and will enhance positive states or
induce definite shifts where it is needed. I offer two blends
for self-esteem, as without it little change will occur and
a list of essential oils for your choosing to design your own

Finding Your
Own Rhythm within the Current of Life
|
The
cardinal principle of life is to make contact with the Divine
spark that sustains us and align it with Universal rhythm or Divine
circuit of energy, which activates our psyche to move towards
its inherent possibility. No healing is complete or balanced when
it dismisses the vital connection between the body and the Earth
plane. Our physical connection to the Earth is the ground that
roots us in our consciousness and biological inheritance through
the first chakra. While it is the playground on which our experiences
take place, Earth is the very base that we must connect and build,
from bottom upwards. Sometimes the ground beneath our feet feels
shaky and all that is built upon it crumbles for lack of a strong
foundation. Where we place our attention and what we connect with
gives us vital clues as to where and why we feel unsupported,
despite that Universal energy is essentially supportive.
A deeper investigation
into the Patrix
reveals that the assimilation of syncopated rhythms of our
manufactured and manipulated surroundings has produced great effects
on the etheric and cellular levels of the physical body cutting
us off from the rhythmic circuit with nature and the Kosmos. Nature
is the closest reservoir of natural energy available to us and
yet, it is continually forsaken for new land developments and
mining of natural resources that usurps Earth’s vital eco-system
rather than sustain it. The Indigenous tribes have great reverence
for land. They understood that earth is the meeting ground for
all dimensions and is the very foundation that we walk and build
our lives upon. Communing with nature they found that it has the
capability of restoring the body-mind to natural balance. When
we are in need of healing we may attune with Earth’s higher
vibrational frequency by tapping into its energy current that
flows through us. Here we have the potential to replace disorder
and bring our body back to rhythm and balance.
For example, walking
through nature is a calming and centering experience as earth
absorbs our energies neutralizing us from the disruptive energy
signature of our cities. Natures’ eloquence can instill
in us a wonder for all of life bringing on a contemplative mode.
Birds express a most exquisite sense of being as they live their
song, and so too, must we live our song in tandem with the Universal
rhythm. This refined frequency field found within nature reminds
our bodies of our original life print and brings us back into
harmony. Daily meditation or contemplation, seasonal and conscious
eating, toning, full moon drumming ceremonies also bring us into
alignment with the vibration of Earth’s healing energies
as we look to the example of the divine manifest in nature to
understand and connect with the greater wisdoms of our universe.

1.
In a quiet place sit in a comfortable position with your
buttocks (sit bones) touching the floor with your spine straight
or stand tall without shoes with your feet flat on the ground
hip distance apart. Place your awareness there, either on your
sit bones or feet. Feel the strength and suppleness of your spinal
column, your central channel and how it supports your body.
2. Gently
breathe in and out allowing your breath to flow freely letting
relaxation pervade your entire being. Notice all the places in
your body where you contract and hold your energy and in the areas
where you try to remain in control.
3.
Breathe into the areas of tension and resistance. Assist release
by exhaling with a sound (uggh, aah, ooh) that coordinates with
the tension held in your body.
4.
Gently release your energy into the wellspring of Universal energy,
the ever-present current of life. This electrical circuit moves
in a circular cycle, rising upward (liberation current) and downward
(manifesting current) as one continuous flow. Breathe deeply into
this energy matrix moving more deeply into the current until you
feel your own energy circulating in tandem.
5. With
every breath feel yourself more rooted into the Earth beneath
you filling you with her nourishment as you synchronize with the
rhythmic ebb and flow of life itself. Let yourself expand freely,
open and easy to receive the fullness of nourishing energies.
Allow yourself to harmonize with this current and let it energize
and align you with the beauty and power of its primordial essence.
6.
Let the wellspring of life’s current fill you deeply within
and enter your consciousness without force. Allow a literal or
abstract image to form of being rooted and connected to this life
force. This is the gift from your inner wisdom that reminds you
to connect and receive the abundant and sustaining force of Universal
energy.
7. Keep
this image alive and know that you can return to it at anytime
to remind yourself of the reality of the life current and its
pervading force.

Health
starts in the Digestive Tract
The
human body is robbed of the very nutrients
that are required to sustain health and well being. Without
health and well being there is difficulty in ascending.
Therefore, to maximally absorb nutrients from food eaten,
the digestive system requires detoxifcation. Over time,
from improper eating habits and faulty food choices the
digestive tract becomes impacted with fecal matter. This
causes digestive problems and absorption of nutrients
to the cells through the intestinal wall.
Green Cell Therapy assists is cleansing the intestinal
wall from impaction, purifies the cells from waste, accelerates
digestion, and alkalinizes the blood helping to clear
emotional patterns that that been imprinted into the body
due to non-release.
