My Diamond Girl
Internal
Supplementation & Oral Care: Neem
taken internally by pets can boost their immune system and provide
a concentrated source of antioxidants to help combat damage caused
by aging as well as environmental toxins. We typically recommend
neem bark because it tastes less bitter than the leaf and contains
compounds that help protect the liver and stomach lining if a dog
is taking other medications.
No US company has EPA approval to sell neem products that kill or
repel fleas and ticks on pests. However, we can claim that using
neem on dogs or cats will soothe itchy skin and help boost their
immune systems.
NEEM FARMS NOTE:
If
your dog is a chewer, ask us to send some doggie-sized
neem chew sticks with your next order. There’s
no charge for them because they’re too big for human
use but some dogs really love them. |

Neem
Bark Powder ~
Oral care in pets,
try mixing equal amounts of neem bark and peanut butter, then brushing
or rubbing it on their teeth. Even our occasionally grumpy old Rottweiler
likes the taste of peanut butter enough that he tolerates my fingers
in his mouth -- and his teeth are noticeably brighter since I started
doing it.
Internal
supplementation: The
typical rate of usage is 1/8 teaspoon of ground neem bark per 10
pounds twice a day for 30 days, then back down to one dose a day
after that. That means a 12-pound Shit-zu would get an eighth of
a teaspoon, a 40-pound Shar-Pei would get a half-teaspoon and a
120-pound Rottie would get 1.5 teaspoons. Some herbalists believe
that patients should take a break every weekend or one week a month.

Supercritical
CO2 Extract Of Neem ~
If you
would rather use Supercritical Neem Extract than
neem bark powder, a dog that weighs less than 50 pounds should
have one capsule every other day. Dogs over 50 pounds can handle
one capsule daily. |

The Anti-Itch

are reporting great results using it on several types of skin issues.
It uses the same blend of essential oils found in our dry dog shampoo

oil.
Even neem fans have been amazed at how quickly this new formula
stops all kinds of itches, from bug bites to chronic dry skin. Made
with neem, karanja, sesame, olive and jojoba oils - plus essential
oils of lavender, cedarwood and lemongrass - it soaks in quickly
and soothes even stubborn itches. 4 oz.

Great
Stuff for Dogs ~
One of the
pack”, that's what we are in the eyes of our tail-wagging,
belly rub-loving friends. Of course, the “pack” traditionally
“hunted” for their food, and being carnivorous, they
consumed mostly animals, but they also sought out and consumed grasses,
plants, and herbs to aid their digestion, healing, and elimination
process. This combination of meat and plants ensured naturally good
health, digestion, and extended life spans.
Unfortunately,
many canines are far from the fields where hunting and foraging
are possible and most have gradually lost the proper instincts
to forage with each domesticated generation. This has created
significant nutritional deficiencies that threaten the health
of our best friends.

A
dog will eat grass or search for a particular herb when it feels
the need to settle the stomach - to vomit or because more vegetables
are needed in the diet. Be vigilent, however that your pet does
not eat grass that has been sprayed with pesticides, otherwise
it will get very ill.
Dogs eat grass because they crave greens as do other animals who
eat vegetables counter to popular belief. They need the enzymes
and a certain amount of chlorophyll which is the essence of plant
life like blood is to our own bodies. Any green plant has a certain
amount of Magnesium and is essential to both human and animal
life, as they have dramatic healing abilities. Herbs can also
be healing for dogs from dandelion to oregano and are used for
different problems. Ginger for instance will settle your pet’s
stomach if they have been sick or vomiting as it does with humans.
Also, as we need vitamin D for optimal heath, have you ever watched
dogs sunbathe for 10-15 minutes to get Vitamin D into their bloodstream?
Many qualities for wellness are shared in both animal and human
kingdoms.

I believe in a raw
food species appropriate diet and following
the principles of nature, dogs
are not just raw meat eaters, they eat grains (few grains
is better) and vegetables. I feed my dogs dry organic dog
food, but supplement it with raw food like cucumbers, peas,
tomatoes, beets, pineapple, sweet potatoes, asparagus, broccoli,
and carrots. Each dog has its preferences and you will learn
them because they will beg for the vegetables they like
and spit out those they don't. However, there are harmful
foods. I give small amounts of a particular
vegetable. I sometimes feed leftover brown rice, but since
I am not a regular grain eater this is upon occasion. Grains
are received from the dry organic dog food.Vegetables can
be easily added to your dog’s diet by selecting from
the raw ones mentioned above. You can also steam, stew or
lightly sautee veggies in olive oil like squash, sweet potatoes
and especially pumpkin.

Next time you are chopping some raw veggies or preparing a smoothie
for good health share some to your dog and see the benefits. Here
is a healthy green smoothie recipe for dogs (and cats) you can
make in minutes.
